Better vision for Africa
- Glasses can change everything

In Denmark, glasses are a matter of course. In Africa, they can be the difference between school, work - or a life in isolation. We collect glasses and give them new life on the noses that need them most.

"At Better Vision For Africa, we celebrate what a pair of glasses can do. Improving vision opens doors to learning, rights, health and new opportunities. We don't just provide better vision - we provide a chance for the future."

- Charlotte Strandfelt, founder of Better Sight For Africa (2023)

With Sebastian Klein in Tanzania

Sebastian Klein traveled with us to Tanzania to experience what used glasses can mean in practice. On the trip, he met children who could see the blackboard for the first time at school and adults who can now return to work and provide for their families.

His dedication and curiosity provided a unique opportunity to tell the story of how old Danish glasses are turning into new opportunities for thousands of people in Africa.
In the video, Sebastian shares his experiences - from measuring glasses in the open air to touching moments when recipients see the world clearly for the first time.

A strong network for better vision
From airlines to local opticians in Africa, we work with everyone to reach as far as possible.

Become a member and support our work

We have successfully collected glasses from thousands of helpful Danes. To ensure that the glasses end up with the right recipients, we do all the work ourselves to ensure vision testing and distribution in Africa. For just DKK 150 you can support our work as a supporting member. For that money, we put glasses on 5 noses in Africa.

International Women's Day 2025 - Focus on vision and equality

On International Women's Day 2025, we put extra focus on how glasses can change the lives of women in Africa. Many women live with untreated vision problems that prevent them from working, reading or actively participating in society.
Through our efforts, the women not only got glasses, but also the opportunity to take control of their own lives. When a mother can see, she can read with her children, do her job better and contribute more to the community.

Make a donation - and put life in focus

When you make a donation to Better Sight for Africa, you help put glasses on noses that need them the most. Every penny helps us collect, restore and deliver glasses directly to children and adults in Africa who would otherwise live with unnecessary visual impairments.
