About us
A used pair of glasses can change everything
In Denmark, old glasses often end up in a drawer when they become too weak, scratched or outdated. In many parts of Africa, the reality is different: a single pair of glasses can be the difference between going to school, getting a job or participating in society.
Bedre Syn Til Afrika is a Danish association run by volunteers with one common goal: to give people in Africa access to glasses - because we believe that a pair of glasses can be the key to a better life. With clear vision, children can attend school, adults can work and support their families, and entire communities have greater opportunities for development. We collect used glasses in Denmark, restore them and make sure they end up where they make the biggest difference. Our work is based on community, responsibility and the belief that something as simple as a pair of glasses can open the door to education, work and a better quality of life.
